As the frost of January begins to thaw, February 2026 arrives in England with a mix of cultural celebration, sporting tension, and a few significant "grown-up" deadlines you won't want to miss. Whether you're planning a half-term getaway or just trying to keep your bills in check. Some of what’s on the horizon this month.
February 5: The Interest Rate Decision. The Bank of England will announce the first base rate decision of the year.
Time to Talk Day (Feb 5). A national push to get people talking more openly about mental health.

February 25: Full ETA Enforcement. From today, travelers must have an Electronic Travel Authorisation to board a flight to the UK.
